Look I made a book. And then I took some pictures of it.</p> <p>The design is FLAWLESS. Also HILARIOUS. Supposing you know the book. See, it’s called The Periodic Table (it is about a Jewish chemist during World War II) and all the chapters are named after elements. So, the cover is the periodic table with the elements with chapters named after them highlighted. The gold one is gold. The edge is graphite with the chapter titled “Gold” gilt.</p> <p>Tragically, while I was surface gilding I dripped stuff on the cover and then it became hideous and so I had to put a patch over it and it is super obvious and embarrassing. Made a paper template of the cover for my limp vellum binding. Took pictures of my fine binding and made a box to transport it to the show on Thursday. Lined the spines of both Gothic bindings.
